Fixing uneven tyre wear means correcting the cause as well as deciding whether the tyre needs replacement. New tyres alone can develop the same pattern if pressure, alignment or worn components remain uncorrected.
Make a four-wheel record
With the car safely parked, note cold pressure and visible damage at each wheel. Measure tread at the inner, middle and outer portions where accessible. Use the same measuring method and record the odometer. Ask a workshop to inspect areas you cannot reach safely.
Choose the repair from evidence
If pressure is wrong, use the placard value and check for leaks. If alignment is outside specification, first inspect steering and suspension components that could prevent a stable adjustment. If a tyre is cupped or damaged, ask whether it can remain in service after the underlying repair.
Check the trend afterwards
Keep the alignment report and repeat tread measurements at a sensible service checkpoint. Existing unevenness will not disappear. A new pattern or recurring pressure loss means the cause may remain. Do not wait for the next routine service if handling changes or a tyre shows structural damage.
